Stop Mow(ning) - we collect now

Redbridge Council has introduced a new garden waste collection service - no longer is there a need to book garden waste collection!

Garden waste will now be collected (free of charge) the working day after your refuse and recycling collection.

Under the scheme garden waste must be left at the edge of your property boundary with the public highway - by 7am on your collection day. Use untied sacks that are no bigger than refuse sacks a maximum of 20 bags per collection will be permitted.

The following garden waste is permissable:
Grass
Hedge cuttings
Flowers
Plants
Small branches - tied in bundles that are of a manageable size for our operatives
Christmas trees

They cannot accept:
Any food
Treated wood
Timber or logs in excess of 10cm (4 inches) diameter or 122cm (4ft) length
Inorganic material such as soil, cobbles, bricks, concrete, wire strapping, metals
Textiles

Garden waste bags must be kept away from other refuse bags and avoid using yellow bags.
The service will run from April to the end of October.

During the winter months you can book a collection by calling the Customer Contact Centre on 0208 554 5000 or by booking online. Or you can take your garden waste to the Chigwell Road Reuse and Recycling Centre, Woodford Bridge, IG8 8PQ.
