I am aware of the bin area arson attacks and the youths who damaged a car by jumping on it - within the Bengeo Gardens Estate over the last few weeks. Crime seems to be increasing at this loaction and I have personally seen the large number of youths using your unprotected bin areas for smoking drugs. I have asked our very able Chadwell SNT and Redbridge ASBO Team to look into a possibloe solution.I will keep you posted
This is nothing new, i'm a resident of Chadwell myself, living in the near by neighbourhood of Grove Road on "Conway Crescent", i'm 18 now but i remember when i was 12/13 people used to smoke cannabis on a regular basis in the bins located between "Bengeo Gardens" and "Westfield Gardens"!!! Coming from a young person living in the area, i would say the best way to combat this, would be have police officers patrolling the estate of a night time, to deter this kind of behaviour, actual PC's at that, who have the powers to arrest people for possession, confisicate it and so on, not PCSO's who don't have much power!
ReplyDeleteYour Chadwell SNT have 2 Police officers and a Sargeant(in addition to 3 PCSO's). We now have a very able Sgt Lowrie, who I am sure will co-ordinate the eyes and ears service of the PCSO's with the empowered service of other members.
