Another tree has been felled by what is purported to be a contractor vehicle, Two years ago I reported a similar accident on Havering Gardens and now I have seen the aftermath of a tree accident on Shepherds Close near the opening to Havering Gardens. I have reported the issue to the Tree Section and will advise you of whether the tree is salvageable or will have to be replaced.
Contractors should be made more accountable for the work they do and the damage they leave behind. Only recently I showed pictures of a damaged kerb stone resulting from an Essex and Suffolk contractor vehicle during recent re-piping works. Perhaps our highways team should undertake a pre and post-works audit and charge contractors for any damage repairs?
