Gridlock!

Ever wondered why our roads have been overly congested in the last few weeks? I can bring some clarity to this matter!

Our Highways Team managed to arrange major road works to the openings to roads intersecting Green Lane that has seen red coloured slowing bumps installed (see picture), at the same time Road sewage repairs are being undertaken throughout Redbridge by Essex and Suffolk Water, further to this Mill lane off Cranbrook Road was closed due to works and major Gasworks were being undertaken at Gants Hill Roundabout. This was all happening at the same time as the major rebuild of Ilford Lane undertaken by TFL, who have decreased parking spaces and the width of the road at Ilford Lane. TFL have yet to realise that delays to traffic and buses are occuring on roads across the borough to the particularly high kerbs on renovated sections of major routes - these areas are inaccesible to disabled bus users when single decker buses are overloaded as the ramps retract before hitting the kerb. The poor bus drivers jostle their buses till the disbaled passengers can enter or just leave them behind.

I have raised concerns about the bad scheduling of local works with the Highways department and have also Requested a reduction in kerb height with TFL to remove avaoidable delays and potentail traffic safety issues.
