RNWA South area co-ordinators meeting

Last night at Loxford Youth Centre the RNWA (myself and Isla represent the South Area) was invited to speak at A south Area NHW Co-ordinators Meeting. Borough Watch Manager Lisa Cherry requested an update on our progress with obtaining potential funding for the RNWA and our intended website. To fill residesnt in with the important detail I can confirm that over £120,000 worth of applications have been submitted for 4 different projects:
  • Building Community Bridges ( a fund to promote the RNWA especilaly with a website that will provide holistic networking opportunities to all watches. The fund will also support local NHW's with paper and consumables so that they can promote themselves)
  • No Cold Caller Zone ( to extend the no cold caller zones)
  • Safer Redbridge ( a fund that will enable us to provide crime prevention devices such as Blue Badge protection devices, UV pens to label property and much more)
  • Gating (an innovative scheme that might see the introduction of Gates to 30 alleyways affected by crime)

We have already been shortlisted for the No cold caller zone which seems highly likely to succeed. I will keep you posted on progress.
