Three Blind Mice (catchers!)

In the picture on this post you will see the holes by the drain near the junction entrance from Grove Road to Barleyfields Close. The holes are purported to be rat holes froam a nest of rats living within the drains and terrifying the local community. Residenst have informed me that they have seen rats in the area and that they have reported the problem to our Pest Control Department. I have had problems with the Pest Control department before, after their qualified staff and contractors misdiagnosed mice with rats before and a Local Government Ombudsman official forced them to refund the cost of private Pest Control - after much exhibited reticence. I personally believe our pest control officers and department is not fit for purpose. However, I shall cascade this concern to them in an attempt to have it rectified. Should you wish to contact them directly for any concerns their contact details are as follows:

graham.moss@redbridge.gov.uk or themis.skouros@redbridge.gov.uk.

Alternatively call 020 8478 3020 and ask for the two named individuals.

They are rather slow to respond (probably have steam powered computers and answer machines) when they choose to however, so don't expect miracles.

The issue of rat infestation is a growing health and safety concern, that will no doubt result in illness and poor health for many residents - if not stemmed now! I will encourage our head of Public Protection to review the existing operation.
