Due to a technical hitch the Youth Bus moved location to the Car Park in the middle of the Millhaven Estate on Thursday - instead of Capstan Close. It was a successful event and many young people had responded to the letters sent out by the Green Party. This was particularly pleasing, as we have to justify the use of such a resource and local people have not let us down.
You will see an image of me trying to learn some DJ skills - I failed abysmally but many of the youngsters were very good.
The bus is to return to the same location every Thursday from 18:00 - 21:00 and is free to all young people from 11 - 21. However, I believe the specific target audience is 13-19 year olds.
The bus in addition to the DJ workshop includes; internet facility, gaming consoles, assistance with CV development and counselling services. It is an excellent opportunity for young people to develop new skills, friendships, local knowledge, maturity and simply to have fun.
3 detached youth workers are available throughout the event and they all have enhanced CRB checks.
