I see you!

In the image you will see the new gates and the cleared area of bush around the gates of Chadwell allotments. This installation was the culmination of our work in partnership with the Police, ASBO team and the Redbridge Allotments Manger.

We should soon see the bushes around the front of the allotments cut down to around 5.5 m and in addition to this measure we have submitted an application to the Area 5 Committee , to fund secure palisade fencing to the rear of the allotments which is currently being used by drug users to access the allotments resulting in drugs paraphernalia being found on site and a spate of frequent arson attacks.

Councillors will decide whether to support our funding application at the next Area 5 Meeting.

We hope that all these scheme, together, will deter and eradicate the awful antisocial behaviour that the allotments in recent years, have become a magnet for.

  1. i read your comments after receiving a chadwell greens dear residents letter. firstly on your blog spot most people would read your comments and come to the conclusion that when people like you say in this letter i i i say plenty and do nothing. people who live in this ward have to put up with anti social groups of young people buying booze from local off licences, i cant believe you and the police dont know which outlets are selling drink to kids.why dont you do something about this.
secondly here's an idea if a large group of people are making lots of noise and damaging property why dont the police stop these people it might have stopped someone being stabbed a couple of weeks ago in grove road. finally your time might be better spent trying to do more practical work for this ward than i i i

  2. Dear anonymous, Just what would you expect me to do with my time..? I run my own business and provide all this work for Chadwell free of charge, including printing, writing and distributing my letters, Writing this blog and arranging community meetings and visting incident areas. I am aware only of the crime reports reported to me and have arranged for test purchases at several Off licences? Some of them have been penalised as a direct result and if you provide me with contact details I can provide you with more information.

I will ask the Police to answer your question to them, however the introduction of the Redbridge Youth Bus detailed in a newer post - will hopefully impact on the local antisocial behaviour. If the Police just stopped antisocial behaviour when they saw it - it would return when they left, or the perpetratoirs would move to another area. We have designed a scheme that will engage with them and input positive ideas into them. Teaching them the futility of Knife crime, better sexual health and providing opportunities for good community citizenship. Why not give it a chance before knocking the most pragmatic approach to antisocial behaviour our ward has probably ever seen. We need people like you, with ideas to support, guide and encourage us to even better things. Do please share your views and any other potential solutions so that they can be considered for implementation?
