Seven Kings Christmas Surprise!

On Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...

The people of Seven Kings are in for a real surprise this Christmas. A new business group has been set up and they have already gained funding from an Area 5 committee for the placing of a Christmas tree just outside Seven Kings Rail Station - if you look closely, you should also notice that festive lights have been placed on lamp posts in the area, these should provide an extremely welcome Christmas treat to local people and will be switched on from today.

  1. A better use of the money may have been to put it towards the reopening of Goodmayes Park Toilets for which Area 5 claims it should not be funding somehow. Yet money towards Christmas Lights is ok for them to fund. Dumb and Dumber if you ask me. Hypocrisy of the highest order.

  2. I agree with you and spoke in support of funding for the Public toilets. Your Councilor’s disagreed. However, the lights have added some sparkle to Seven Kings and we should be pleased that after 8 years of campaigning local businesses have succeeded in introducing them. I am rather disappointed however, that the businesses did not contribute and for the first time ever (in my recollection) 100% of the cost of a festive light scheme in Redbridge was fronted by your Area 5 Councilors??!!!
