King George Hospital Demonstration

Thank you to all of you who attended our demonstration today, braving the difficult weather conditions to make your voices heard.
-
It was encouraging to receive so much support all day long ,especially all the cars that tooted their horns as they passed by and gave us a friendly smile.
-
We have amassed a large number of signatures for our petition which will be submitted to Heather O'Meara the Chief Executive of the Redbridge Primary Care Trust, the Secretary of State for Health - the Rt Hon Andy Burnham MP and the Chief Executive of the NHS David Nicholson.
-
If you would like to assist with collection of signatures of our petition, you can obtain one by following this link. Please return these before the end of January as we want to submit them to all the above prior to any public consultation.

Update: See also Barkingside 21, for a report on the Lee Scott meeting

  1. A well attended meeting was held on the previous Wednesday, 18 November at the Holiday Inn, Newbury Park organised by Lee Scott (Conservative MP for Ilford North) ably chaired by Chris Carter (Editor, Ilford Recorder) and addressed by the Chief Executive and others from the Barking, Havering and Redbridge Primary Care Trust. It hardly filled me with optimism.

  2. We must keep our morae up and continue the pressure. We have opposed a previous proposal to close A&E facility and won - we must stay focused and committed if we are to succeed again.
