A lady has just come into the library here to ask about this event. She says she heard a vague rumour about it, but no details. She could find no mention in the Recorder. I wonder whether it might be a good idea to do a little more work on publicity ? We are always willing to publicise special events at Libraries if you have flyers, posters and the like. I tried to telephone you contact number for more details for her, but just reached an answering machine. Best of luck for the event.
ReplyDeleteDear Andy,
ReplyDeleteThe event is in Melbourne Fields at Valentines Park (accessible from Melbourne Road off Valentines Road - linked to Coventry road which cuts of Cranbrook Road. Our processiona starts in Ilfordf Town Centre at 12:00 toady - why not ask people to follow...? Their are banners on the entrances of all the local parks and flyers have been distributed in the town centre and posted in soem doors. The council charged us over 2500 for the free event we provide and only donated £1000 - where do we get a budgete for marketing with only £8,000 attained this year and a stage that cost us £7500? Fortunately we had a £2000 overspill from last year or the evnet would not have been held. By the way we featured on page 2 of the Ilford Recorder this week....?
