Wot no signage...?!!!

Many of you have recently complained about the lack of "No ball Games" Signage on Shepherds Close, despite several Area 5 Committee Meetings, a deputation to cabinet and a deputation to Full Council to ask them to deal with antisocial sports across the borough. What is even worse is that after a petition of over 40 signatures and overwhelming support for the introduction of the Signage the item was kept of the agenda for over 7 months. Even after securing the funding an error by the Highways Team, meant that the scheme was forgotten, until Isla and I picked up on the issue at the March Area 5 Committee.
All this put aside it seemed success was on the horizon when I contacted the Highways Team before the Easter Holidays and they agreed to install the signs, before the end of the same school break period. Today I have discovered the signs have been installed in the wrong area on a private are of land. This whole scheme has been a travesty from the outset and I will implore the Highways Team to put right, what their contractors have made a right mess of!
I know that some residents were disturbed by the usual youths playing football today and that several reports have been made to the Redbridge ASBO Team and Chadwell SNT. I will insist that the signs are moved with haste to eradicate the ongoing issue.
