Liberal Democrat mayhem!

Soon to be former Cllr Bob Carey!

It would seem that as usual the Liberal Democrat Party are making their usual elections boo boos, during the run in to the elections. In Waltham Forest 3 of their long standing candidates were ousted yesterday, after submitting their new applications. Read more (here).

It would seem that an internal row resulted in a lot of confusion about who would be standing for Council elections. This confusion boiled over into a much publicised fiasco and continues the horrid depiction of the "shady side" of politics. This reminds me of an earlier post on my blog called "Liberal with the truth".

  2. Sorry to be picky, Wilson, but please make it clear you're talking about the Liberal Democrats and not the Liberal Party. They are two different parties with very slightly different policy platforms!

Good luck with the campaign up in Chadwell and for Ilford South, I hope you get elected onto the local council.

Thank you for your comment - I have made some alterations to the story for clarity.

  4. with regard to Waltham Forest just to correct you again candidates are decided by local parties for council elections and not by the centre. The Liberal Democrats are a federal party made up of local parties within regions and the nations of the UK again their deselection would be a local issue in Waltham Forest.
