Children from St Bedes School could soon be complaining about headaches. A proposal from T Mobile is being considered, in the telephone roll out plan - at the Area 5 Committee tonight. The sought location is at the junction of Grove Road and Chadwell Heath Lane. I will as always campaign against this diabolical scheme. I would prefer the existing mast at the location to be shared between companies, rather than introducing an increased potential health threat to the area.
so how are the children of st bedes supposed to text their mums what time to pick em up in the 4x4?
ReplyDeleteHi knowsie,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the detiled information on mobile phone masts. All in all your comments have agreed with my proposal that the existing telephone mast should be shared. It would be interesting to know if horizontal transmissions from two masts in close vicinity could interfere with each other causing increased health concern - your comment has not expanded on such effects? I will continue to push for the sharing of the existing mast as I believe this is still the best way forward and hope others too join the clamour.
There shouldn't be any interference issues with a shared mast but it is important to appreciate my first point - no doubt the existing operator designed the current mast to carry all the current and future requirements for its own network; not for any other network. (Why would they?) If that is the case, there is no way that the mast can be shared.
ReplyDeleteI think your efforts would be best directed towards ensuring that all network operators cooperate to ensure that all future masts are designed to be shared, which means you must attack this through regulation at national level.
Bear in mind, though, that if you are successful, you can expect to see much larger and taller masts in the future - perhaps some people would find multiple smaller masts more acceptable?
You should get some expert advice before proceeding further so that not only you, but the community at large, know the pros and cons of such regulation before you find that you've shot yourself in the foot.
