Area 5 Committee has earmarked £6000 for the removal of Bulky Waste from Chadwell, Seven Kings and Goodmayes Ward. It is proven that clean areas have reduced crime due to increased community ownership of the problem, better community morale reducing perception of crime and embarrassment to perpetrators of "grime"
Any bulky waste removed from the frontage of any property will also involve distribution of a severe letter to the resident, informing them of enforcement for any repeat incident.
I am reporting all the bulky items I see and will keep you informed of progress via letters and this blog. However if any residents see any bulky items please report it to me so that I can have this cleared away for you - improving the quality of life for local people.
Thus far my newest wave of Bulky Item and graffiti reporting include:

You make Chadwell sound like a right dump. Have you nothing positive to say?
ReplyDeleteOf course I do can you not see the silver lining? Before my work in your area our ward was one of the high priorities for graffiti clearance. We were appearing in the Ilford Recorder and Ilford Post regularly as residents felt low in morale. Now we are one of the Cleaner areas of Redbridge and it is a real battle to get the Streetscene to prioritise our reports. Fear not however, as I am quite beligerent and the existing list will be reduced soon I am sure! Moreover, we are one of only 4 Redbridge wards in which crime has reduced. It is proven that when an area is made more salubrious crime reduces, this and the fact that I have initiated 6 new neighbourhood watches (enabling better intelligence and engagement for statutory authorities with local residents)is obviously having an impact. The future is a bright one for Chadwell so enjoy yourself!
