Blurry eyed!

Some Councillors have a blurry recollection of our attendances at Area 5 Committee Meetings.

The image above shows Isla Martin and Wilson Chowdhry at the most recent Area 5 Committee Meeting. We had wished to speak at the Public Forum section of the meeting to discuss problems associated with parking on Fields Park Crescent and parking around King George Hospital. However, despite sending an email to the Committee Clerk weeks before the meeting, we were almost thwarted by the almagamated Councillor's. After much debate they allowed us to speak and we chose the Fields Park Crescent issue as we have much progress in this area. Wilson said:
-
"At the meeting Cllr Staight feigned that he knew about the fact that the pavement area and Green area on the road were owned by Redbridge Homes. This surprised me and I dropped our issue at the meeting, after Councillors refused to let me speak further in response to Cllr Staight's comment. Fortunately, at our Public meeting last Thursday, Ian Jardine from Redbridge Homes admitted that it was I that triggered the realisation of the land ownership. Hopefully the Liberal Democrats will not try to claim responsibility in their next FOCUS."
-
We have copied the Committe Clerk, and local councillors into my email requesting a response into why, for a second time, they have publicly tried to prevent Wilson addressing local concerns. Any response will be uploaded.

The only good that came out of the meeting is that Isla spotted in the Local Action Report, that the "No Ball" games signage for Shpeherds Close that we secured funding towards, has still not been implemented. We have contacted the Council about this and have been advised that installation will take place shortly. Again it would seem that Councillor have a blurred recollection of our work......!
