Kinked George Hospital - Overspill parking solution

The Highways department have responded to a request, for Parking solutions to be implemented at near King George Hospital , in the wake of the recent dubious decision to charge staff for Parking. The issue was raised by a local resident and Wilson, at a very early Area 5 meeting this year. When it as raised your existing Councillors were not even aware of the issue. So we are a little perturbed and disappointed that the Liberal Focus has painted a picture that this work, was somehow, a result of their efforts.

Below we include images of the detailed plans for the proposed road changes

If you would like to comment on the proposal please do complete the consultation document below and send it to the Highways department. If you can please send me a copy of your completed form, or let me know about any apprehension - so that we might champion any worthy alterations you may wish for.

  1. We should all say NO to the bays

If the politicians had sorted out the parking at KGH in the first place we wouldnt have this problem.

The bays will have a knock on effect on house prices in the area and why should our family and friends be charged to park when visiting?

  2. I am as unhappy as the both of you and tried hard to challenge the hospitals decision. At the time the lack of community support reduced my positional leverage and I have had to settle for this highways option as their was no recourse left to follow. The Hospital responses became more assertive as our campaign dwindled. I will post the Bexley proposal toady.

  3. As a long term resident in Bexley Gardens, whilst I do not like the idea of paying for parking, I nevertheless feel this is the best way to solve our parking problems. There were no problems in the past BUT nowadays we are lucky if there is a parking place. Cars are constantly driving in and out looking for parking spots and some of them are driven at speed. Generally the same cars take up the spots and they are badly parked. The parking zones should be implemented as that is the only way we are going to get Bexley Gardens back! This quiet cul de sac needs to be regained by the residents and it should be made safe for all who live here!
